Dodgers News: Clayton Kershaw Praises Cody Bellinger
Count Clayton Kershaw as one of the many impressed by rookie Cody Bellinger’s debut.
Bellinger has five homers, including a grand slam, in his first 11 games. He’s been arguably the Dodgers’ best offensive player. He’s played outfield and first base on top of that.

“It’s amazing,” Kershaw said of Bellinger’s performance. “Hitting home runs, laying down bunts for hits when they shift against him, playing defense – he’s just an all-around great baseball player. It’s pretty special.”
Special is a good word. Bellinger is having underrepresented success for a Dodgers rookie, which is significant considering relatively recent hot debuts from Yasiel Puig, Joc Pederson and Corey Seager.
Bellinger has carried an otherwise mediocre Dodgers offense. He’s competing to give the Dodgers back-to-back Rookie of The Year winners.
