Dodgers News: Dave Roberts Provides Update on Miguel Rojas After Exiting Wednesday’s Game With Injury
Just three innings into Wednesday’s 8-6 loss to the Cincinnati Reds, the Dodgers pulled starting shortstop Miguel Rojas from the game. While we didn’t know the reasoning for the move in the moment, the team later posted an update on Twitter, attributing the decision to Rojas experiencing neck tightness.

The Dodgers went on to lose 8-6, marking their fourth straight loss. Chris Taylor filled Rojas’ role at shortstop, with Jason Heyward entering the game at left field.
After the game, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts provided an update on Rojas, too.
According to Jack Harris of the LA Times, Roberts said that Rojas’ neck has been bothering him for the past couple of days, and on Wednesday, it started to impact his swing.
Roberts also said that Rojas would be out for Thursday’s game, and that’s as much as he knows for now. Roberts doesn’t yet know if he’ll be good to go by Friday’s series opener against the Phillies in Philadelphia.

Rojas will be down tomorrow. His status for Friday is TBD. https://t.co/QOT7XDu1UM
In 39 games this season, Rojas is averaging .216 at the plate with just six runs batted in. Heyward had two plate appearances in Wednesday’s game in Rojas’ place, going 0-for-2 with a strikeout.
The four-game losing streak marks the Dodgers’ longest such streak all season and their worst since last May. Their road trip continues with one more game in Cincinnati before they head to Philadelphia for three games.
