Dodgers News: Mookie Betts Scratched from Saturday’s Lineup vs Rockies
About 40 minutes after releasing the lineup for Saturday night’s game against the Rockies, the Dodgers sent out a revised version that had Mookie Betts’ name missing.
Before the game, manager Dave Roberts shared the update on Betts who is not only dealing with a few little dings and bruises but also because of a stomach bug, which is the main reason he was scratched.
Notably, Betts was drilled in the middle of the back by a wayward curveball in the 6th inning on Friday night. He remained in the game.
Kiké Hernandez took Mookie’s spot at second base and veteran outfielder David Peralta moved up from 8th in the lineup to leading off. With Monday being an off day, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Betts sitting for Sunday’s series finale as well.
Betts is hitting .286 with a .967 OPS in 110 games this season. He leads the Dodgers in home runs (31) and is behind only Freddie Freeman in most offensive categories on the team in 2023.
