  1. So, on 5/23, there was an article blaming the listless offensive play on being tired. I comment and was told by another that I simply don’t understand baseball and a “loss here and there are expected”. Looking at you, Steve. Okay, got it.

So, now after getting SWEPT for the first time since last June, this time by a very mediocre Reds team that we just took 3 of 4 from at home, following losing a series at home to AZ, for now 5 losses in a row for the first time since 2019, what say you folks who keep denying the reality that Dave Roberts is lost and is now showing the inability to correct issues mid season. So I guess he’s prepping us for yet another epic failure in the NLDS this fall, assuming we get that far. I mean, our playoff losing streak now sits at 6 games.

The offense needs to be fixed. They need to learn how to manufacture runs instead of relying on the home run. In this 5 game losing streak to 2 very mediocre albeit professional teams, they have scored 11 runs and given up 27. That’s an average of 2.2 runs per game while giving up 5.4 rpg. And take away their Reds game 1 loss when they scored 6 runs, giving up 9, the other 4 losses in this current debacle saw them score 5 runs, or 1.25 rpg. Not going to win many games like that. This HAS to be fixed now, not shrug your shoulders and wait for magic to happen.

Roberts has no answers, therefore he is not the answer to lead this team. It’s beyond disappointing.

  2. WE SAID WHO THE DODGERS SHOULD TRADE FOR DURING THE OFF SEASON…LANE THOMAS. HE’S A 27 YEAR OLD, 5 TOOL PLAYER, PRESENTLY INJURED, WITH THE WASHINGTON NATIONALS, WHO ARE GOING NOWHERE! GO BACK & CHECK THE VECCHIO FACTOR SAYS… ARTICLES FROM THE OFF SEASON-SPRING TRAINING TIME PERIODS. WE ALSO IMPLORED THE INEPT DODGER FRONT OFFICE PLAYER PERSONNEL DEPT. TO SIGN JOSH HADER. HERE’S THE DODGERS PROBLEM. STARS DON’T MAKE WINNING TEAMS. PLAYERS WHO PLAY AS A TEAM, DEVELOP CHEMISTRY OGETHER, AND WHO ARE SELFLESS, ARE THE TEAMS THAT WIN WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONSHIPS. THE DODGERS ARE A HUGE BRAND, BUT 1ST & FOREMOST, THEY RUN THE BASEBALL OPERATION MORE AS A ROI BUSINESS. YES, ITS A BASEBALL ORGANIZATION, & WINNING CONTRIBUTES TO MAKING THE DODGER BRAND EVEN MORE VALUABLE, BUT IT’S SECONDARY IN THE WALL ST MINDS THAT OWN THE TEAM. TO THEM, YES, THEY WANT TO WIN, BUT BOTTOM LINE, INCREASING THE BRAND GLOBALLY, IS WHO THEY ARE, AND THE BRAND, BUSINESS=WISE, ALWAYS WINS OUT IN DECISION-MAKING, BASEBALL-WISE. DON’T THINK FOR ONE SECOND THAT OHTANI IS A GREAT BASEBALL SIGNING ONLY. HE’S AN INCREDIBLE BUSINESS INVESTMENT, & A BRAND IN HIMSELF! IT WAS A UNBELIEVABLE 2-WAY BUSINESS/BASEBALL WIN FOR THE DODGERS,& FOR THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE. OHTANI’S ARE RARE, BUT WE DON’T YET SEE THE PAYOFF TO THE SIGNING, I.E., A BASEBALL ‘TEAM’ BONDING THAT WREAKS OF WORLD SERIES WINNER. THIS TEAM IS LED BY A SCOUTMASTER WITH A SIMPLE MIND. HE’S NOT A BUILDER OF NARRATIVE THAT CAN CALCULATE WHAT’S NEEDED & NECESSARY TO WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS. THE PLAYERS LIKE HIM BECAUSE HE’S AMIABLE, CONGENIAL, A “MR. ROGERS” NICE GUY WHO HAPPENS TO BE THEIR MANAGER. BUT AFTER 9 YEARS OF BEING GIVEN A LOT OF NAMES AND STARS TO MANAGE, HE’S 1 FOR 9…NOT A WINNING PERCENTAGE. HE, & THE DODGER FRONT OFFICE OF BASEBALL OPERATIONS, DOESN’T SEEM ABLE TO PUT THESE PIECES TOGETHER TO GET THEM THROUGH THE CRITICAL ROUGH SPOTS OF A 162 GAME SEASON, AND CARRY THEM SUCCESSFULLY OVER TO THE POST-SEASON. HE’S NOT GOOD ENOUGH NOR EXPERIENCED ENOUGH, STRATEGY-WISE, TO MAKE THE RIGHT PITCHING, AND IN MANY CASES, INNATE, STRATEGIC, ‘IN-GAME’ BASEBALL MOVES/DECISIONS THAT ALTER A GAME’S WIN OR LOSE RESULT. RATHER, IT FEELS LIKE HE JUST ROLLS THE BALL OUT ON THE FIELD & LETS THE PLAYERS PLAY. IN MOVIE TERMS, A PLOT IS THE STORYLINE THAT IDENTIFIES THE PLAN/THEME OF THE MOVIE. IT CARRIES THE STORY. IT’S THE THROUGHLINE OF THE FILM. WE ASK, DO THE DODGERS HAVE A PLOT, A PLAN, A THEME, THAT CARRIES THEM THROUGHOUT THE SEASON? IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE SUCCESS, MANY ASPECTS OF THE PLOT MUST BE EXECUTED SEAMLESSLY, & MASTERFULLY TO BE ABLE TO REACH A BRILLIANT-WINNING CONCLUSION. DAVE ROBERTS & THOSE WHO ARE IN CHARGE OF DODGER BASEBALL OPERATIONS AREN’T SMART ENOUGH TO UNDERSTAND THIS CONCEPT, & IT’S WHY THE DODGERS FLOUNDER WITH A TEAM FULL OF NAMES & STARS, BUT IT’S NOW, AND HAS BEEN, A DISJOINTED GROUP OF INDIVIDUALS, EXCEPT FOR 3-4 PLAYERS & 1-2 PITCHERS, THEY PLAY DIFFERENT LINEUPS MOST EVERY DAY, AND ARE RUN BY A “MR. ROGERS” SCOUTMASTER, WHO HAS NO CLUE HOW TO PUT THE BASEBALL PIECES TOGETHER TO FORM A COHESIVE CALM TO THE SWIRLING WINDS OF UNREST & INSECURITY. NAMES/STARS DON’T WIN WORLD SERIES BASEBALL TITLES…TEAMS DO, LED BY LEADERS WHO KNOW HOW TO LEAD & HOW TO ORCHESTRATE 26 PLAYERS TO BE THEIR BEST ABILITY-WISE. AND THEN HE MUST GET EVERYONE TO PULL AS ONE, WHILE HE EXECUTES EXPERIENCED STRATEGIC MOVES IN CRUNCH TIME! ONLY THEN CAN THE DODGERS GLITZY FLASHY NAME BRAND STARS WIN! TBC
