Dodgers Pitcher Boasts Unbreakable Record
Positive news from MLB’s CBA negotiations has been hard to come by. Both MLB and the MLBPA have failed to find much common ground on key issues. One of the few things they have agreed on is implementing a universal DH. Since it appears pitchers will no longer have to pick up a bat, Dodgers reliever Justin Bruihl took to Twitter to brag about his offensive accomplishments in 2021.
With the DH being implemented in the national league, I just want it to be known that I have the highest OBP in MLB history thanks to the one walk I had this year ?
— Justin Bruihl (@Jbruihl24) February 11, 2022
Bruihl did indeed log a perfect 1.000 OBP in 2021. In his lone plate appearance on August 10, Bruihl earned a five pitch walk. Pitcher Enyel De Los Santos now has the distinction of paving the way for Bruihl to make history.
On a serious note, the universal DH opens up a world of possibilities for the Dodgers. Justin Turner and AJ Pollock both come to mind as players that could benefit from less time in the field. Both have struggled over the last few years to stay healthy.
Pollock and Turner are fine hitters, but they can’t hold a candle to the mighty Justin Bruihl.
