Dodgers Roster: RHP Mitch White Activated, Luke Raley Optioned

Another day full of roster moves made by the Dodgers ahead of their series with the Brewers. Los Angeles is expecting to throw a bullpen game on Friday night in Milwaukee, so having arms available is paramount.

The Dodgers activated Mitch White from the COVID list for tonight’s game. White was placed on the list after some lingering soreness from the vaccination that he received this past week. There is no minimum amount of time needed to stay on the list.

White has appeared in 1 game for the Dodgers this season before he went on the list. He tossed 1.2 scoreless innings against the Reds on Monday night in the loss to Cincinnati. White issued 2 walks and allowed a hit.

In a corresponding move, the Dodgers optioned Luke Raley back to the minor league site. White is an important piece for the weekend since Los Angeles plans on throwing their bullpen game this Friday. He is probably one of the arms that will be used in that game.  White is one of the few arms that can go multiple innings in relief.

Raley appeared in 14 games for the Dodgers, batting .206 with one double, one homer, and two runs driven in. He made his Major League debut on April 9 against Washington and recorded his first MLB hit on April 14 against Colorado. The homerun he hit was the first of his career.

The Dodgers play a 4-game series in Milwaukee before heading to Chicago to take on the Cubs. After that. they come back to Southern California to play the Angels before their homestand. All told, they will have a 10-game road trip before heading home.

    1. having a bad day? Luke hasn’t done much, and we need some more arms. Dodgers are the best in shuffling players in and out of the big club and minors.

  1. Watched White throw in preseason. He throws strikes and is accurate. Kid has potential
