Bolsinger quickly found himself in trouble after giving up consecutive hits to Segura and Gennett with no outs in the fifth. With Nelson squaring around to drop down a sacrifice bunt, Bolsinger did his work for him by throwing a wild pitch, his second of the game, which allowed both runners to advance.

A Parra ground out and third Bolsinger wild pitch scored two runs for the Brewers before the inning came to an end. Grandal reached safely again, though this time on a hit by pitch. His time on the bases didn’t last long as Puig grounded into a force out. Puig then stole second base and advanced to third on Lucroy’s throw that sailed into center field.

Nelson struck out Guerrero and got Rollins to fly out, keeping the Dodgers off the scoreboard and without a hit through five innings. Bolsinger bounced back in the sixth, retiring the side in order on just six pitches.

Pederson’s one-out flare single to right broke up Nelson’s no-hit bid in the bottom of the sixth inning. Kendrick followed with a chopper that skipped off Nelson’s glove, and the Dodgers had two on with one out. Gonzalez eventually stranded runners on the corners by flying out to left on the first pitch he saw.

Chin-hui Tsao took the mound in the seventh for his first Major League appearance since 2007. He allowed an infield single to Segura, who was soon after thrown out by Grandal on a stolen base attempt. Gennett lined a single over Rollins’ leaping attempt before Tsao struck out Nelson to end the inning.

Hernan Perez replaced Aramis Ramirez at third base in the bottom of the seventh and his error on a Guerrero grounder resulted in the Dodgers mounting a two-out rally. Rollins’ base hit to center put runners on the corners for pinch-hitter Andre Ethier. Rollins moved into scoring position by stealing second base without a throw, and Ethier delivered with a two-run single that tied the game.

Pederson added another with an RBI double that hit off the short fence in left field and the Dodgers led 3-2 through seven innings. J.P. Howell entered in the eighth and worked a two-out single and subsequent wild pitch to complete a scoreless inning of relief.

Kenley Jansen took over in the ninth and protected the 3-2 lead to convert his 15th save of the season that extended the Dodgers’ modest winning streak to three games.
