Dodgers Announce Huge Lineup Changes Ahead of NLDS Elimination Game

The Los Angeles Dodgers are getting set for their win or go home Game 3 against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday night. After the offense went silent in Games 1 and 2 — scoring just four runs combined — Dave Roberts has decided to make changes to the starting lineup.

Even with the right-handed Brandon Pfaadt on the mound for Arizona, the Dodgers have inserted Kiké Hernández into the lineup instead of the left-handed hitting James Outman.

Additionally, J.D. Martinez has moved up to the three-hole, and Will Smith has been moved down to the five-spot.

Here’s the full Dodgers lineup for Wednesday’s must-win game:

Hernández has a career .891 postseason OPS, and has had tons of big moments in a Dodgers uniform. He came through in Game 2 with a pinch-hit RBI infield single, earning himself a start in this win-or-go-home Game 3.

The Dodgers need their offense to come through if they want any shot at playing baseball past Wednesday. Let’s hope this new-look lineup can get the job done.

  1. I agree with you the Dodgers can come back and they will. You can’t hold a good team down and that is exactly what the Dodgers are.
