Dodgers Highlights: LA All-Stars Lead Offensive Explosion in Blowout Victory Against Rockies
The Dodgers blew out the Rockies on Thursday in the series finale of a three-game set, 14-3, to take the series.
After a one-hour-fifty-minute rain delay at Coors Field, the Dodgers didn’t waste another second to get things started.
In the first inning, after shortstop Mookie Betts doubled and a pitch hit Freddie Freeman, J.D. Martinez’s bloop single scored Betts. A few innings later, Betts doubled to open the third inning, went to third base on Freeman’s sac fly, and scored on Martinez’s line drive single.
The Dodgers All-Stars had things rolling early.
In the fourth inning, though, things went off the rails.
To lead off the fourth, Jason Heyward doubled and Miguel Vargas and James Outman walked to load the bases. Betts’ sac fly scored Heyward, and Freeman’s single scored Vargas.

Max Muncy doubled scoring Outman and Freeman. Then, Martinez blasted a two-run homer, his 19th of the season and third of the series. That completed the six-run inning.

J.D. Martinez has done it again.

The day he's named an All-Star starter, he hits his third home run of the series and the 19th of the season for the Dodgers.
As a reminder, he hit 16 home runs all of last season in Boston.
He's by far the steal of the offseason.
In the fifth inning, Heyward singled and went to third on a fielding blunder. Betts walked to load the bases. Freeman singled in two. Muncy singled in Betts.
In the sixth, Vargas tripled in Heyward.
In the seventh, the Dodgers tacked on two more runs, courtesy of a Jonny DeLuca pinch-hit RBI single and a Heyward infield hit that he hustled out.
Jason Heyward hustled to leg out an infield single in the top of the 7th inning with the Dodgers up 13-3.

He made it safely and the Dodgers now lead 14-3.
If that doesn't show the type of player Heyward is then I don't know what will. What an incredible veteran presence for LA. https://t.co/JeVyHH3Knr
In his five innings, Emmet Sheehan allowed just three earned runs — good for Coors Field standards — and got the win.
The Dodgers bullpen held things down, and LA moved to 45-35 on the year, just two games back of the first place Arizona Diamondbacks in the NL West.
