Dodgers Insider Talks About LA’s Impressive Ability to Fill Needs Throughout Season

Any team in sports is only as good as their weakest link. It’s an old cliché, but one that is still relevant to this day around the industry.

For the Los Angeles Dodgers, this rings true, as the team has relied upon multiple different kinds of players throughout the season. Of course, they are led by their All-Star duo of Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman, but LA has found a way to get the most out of the other guys around those two.

It has been impressive to watch play out and is a major reason why the Dodgers are where they are in the standings. They hold a very sizeable lead in the NL West and should be able to just work through things the rest of the way.

Everyone on this team understands their roles, so there isn’t any confusion. They all want to win together as a team, which is a special thing in the sports world.

Recently Spectrum SportsNet LA analyst Jose Mota spoke with our very own Doug McKain and gave his thoughts on this Dodgers roster. You can watch the entire video here!

“You create a culture and you don’t necessarily go for the biggest names,” Mota said. “But when you look at studying personalities, characteristics of how a team is built, this team, from Dave Roberts up to the front office, do the best job I’ve seen in many years of making sure that a guy fits a need. Championship teams have veteran benches, backup players, but backup players that understand their role, and not gonna be knocking on the manger’s door saying, ‘How come I’m not playing.’ These guys stay ready.”

Mota sees this team every day, so he understands just how good they can be. But it’s a testament to the entire organization for how they built this roster.

They were supposed to take a step back this season while seeing what they had in some of their younger guys. But that isn’t how this franchise works, and they are in a familiar spot down the stretch.

The Dodgers are going to need everyone to continue contributing if they are to reach their ultimate goal of winning another World Series. They are on a mission this season, and they should be a tough out come playoff time.
