Dodgers vs Mets: Latest Betting Odds, Predictions and Picks for August 30

The Dodgers head into New York today to start a three-game series with the NL East-leading Mets. The Mets have the second-best record in baseball, eight games behind Los Angeles, so this series has, if not a ton of meaning, at least a little more than most of the games the Dodgers have played recently.

Andrew Heaney will take the mound for the Dodgers in the series opener. Heaney had his first poor start of the season on August 18 in Milwaukee, but he bounced back well six days later against those same Brewers in L.A., throwing six innings and allowing just two runs. He will look to build on an impressive first season in L.A. against a tough Mets team that is fifth in the majors in runs scored.

On the mound for New York will be Taijuan Walker, who has been mostly outstanding this season outside of a clunker in Philadelphia in May and a disastrous start against the Braves earlier this month. Walker’s season ERA of 3.38 would be 2.41 without two two starts.
