Fallout Continues for Dodgers and Julio Urias as LA Further Distances Themselves

Days after finding out some disturbing news concerning starter Julio Urias, the Dodgers organization has done all they can to remove any distraction his arrest has brought to the team since such a development broke.

In the most recent move made by LA, Urias’ locker has been cleared out for one of the newest Dodger infielders who’s had his fair share of clutch moments with the Boys in Blue already.

Slated to be a part of Dave Roberts’ playoff rotation, Urias was arrested on felony domestic violence charges at a recent LAFC soccer match and promptly placed on administrative leave by MLB.

Without his services for the postseason, the Dodgers have done all they can from removing murals with Urias’ likeness, pulling his scheduled bobblehead night from their promotions and now giving his previous locker to Wong, a choice Roberts himself didn’t anticipate or expect.

In his short stint with the team, Wong impressed many by hitting a three-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning against the Braves which gave the team some life in an otherwise dismal series.

More recently, Wong tied up a game against the Nationals in the ninth inning after singling home James Outman to also give LA a chance to win.

The infielder’s heroics haven’t gone without it’s share of credit given to him as the former Mariner has revived his season with just a few games in Dodger blue under his belt.

After a horrendous start at the plate to start 2023 with Seattle, Wong signed a minor league deal after his release from the Emerald City near the trade deadline.

An impressive showing at OKC led to his call up to Dave Roberts’ roster and the veteran is already proving such a decision worthy in his limited playing time with LA.

  1. Dodgers organization is wrong for the way it is handling Urias’ situation. I read suspicion of domestic violence. Suspicion … you won’t get to the world series because of your actions towards him.
