Jason Heyward Posts Heartfelt Message to Dodgers Fan Base

Sometimes the players that you least expect have the biggest impact on a team. The 2023 Dodgers saw that play out to a tee this season with veteran outfielder Jason Heyward.

Originally signed on a minor-league contract, Heyward worked his way onto the big-league roster and never left. He became one of the more valuable players on the LA roster, and they wouldn’t have won 100 games without his services.

He saw a resurgence in his game this season, and the Dodgers benefitted from it both on and off the field.

Heyward produced for the team, but he was also a mentor for a lot of the younger guys. Rookie outfielder James Outman has spoken about the impact that Heyward had on him, so his value can’t be overstated.

Like many other LA players, Heyward took to his social media to express a heartfelt message to the Dodgers fan base. It was a strong post from Heyward that really shows you what kind of person he is.

Through the season, Heyward hit .269 with 15 home runs and 40 runs batted in. He was a plus player all year, and he really helped bring this team together as a unit.

Heyward is a free agent entering this offseason, but he has spoken about his desire to return to Los Angeles next season. The Dodgers would love to have him back after the year he put together, so hopefully, the two sides can come to an agreement.

If Heyward does return to LA next season, he will bring the infectious energy with him again. The Dodgers need players like Heyward, and his veteran presence really makes a difference within a ballclub.
