Shohei Ohtani Confirms He Feels Healthy, Ready to Start Dodgers Spring Training as Hitter
Shohei Ohtani spoke to a frenzy of media at Camelback Ranch on Friday as Dodgers’ spring training gets underway.
The two-way star confirmed he feels healthy as spring training begins, and is ready to start as a hitter following his elbow surgery. He also told reporters that he feels like a rookie again.
“I’m on a brand new team so I’m going to act like I’m a rookie and try to get along with all the guys, and get along with my teammates. “
Ohtani said he’s swinging with nearly 100 percent effort, and the next steps in his recovery are facing live hitters or velocity from a machine.
He doesn’t expect it to be difficult to balance hitting everyday while also rehabbing his elbow to pitch in 2025.
There were tons of media on hand to watch Ohtani speak for the first time at Camelback Ranch. It’s safe to assume it’ll look like this pretty much every time he speaks for the next decade.
