Shohei Ohtani Expects to Be Ready to DH on Opening Day for Dodgers
The Dodgers officially announced Shohei Ohtani to the world as a member of the team on Thursday in front of a swarm of media. It was a great day for this already iconic franchise, and it has been a long time coming.
While Ohtani underwent major elbow surgery that will prevent him from pitching in 2024, he did say he expects to be fully ready to hit on Opening Day.
While he won’t be taking the mound this coming season, Ohtani plans to be the designated hitter for this team. He gives them a powerful left-handed bat right in the middle of the lineup, giving them a heck of a big three.
Alongside Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman, the Dodgers have arguably the best trio in the history of the sport.
He is the biggest free agent signing in the history of baseball, and the Dodgers can now say that they landed him. The two sides’ goals align very well, and the hope is that it will lead to the team winning multiple World Series titles.
Both Ohtani and the Dodgers are putting major faith in one another, and this should be a mutually beneficial partnership.
