Dodgers News: LA Makes MLB History After Continued Dominance in August

Sweeping yet another series to end the month against the Diamondbacks, the Dodgers simply refuse to lose out of the All-Star break when the seasons turn to fall.

Their victory over their divisional rival Snakes in Wednesday’s contest signaled a 24-4 record in August for the team, adding to an already ridiculous precedent from the past four seasons for Los Angeles.

The Dodgers have been no stranger to extreme hot streaks as the California sun heats up in the summer months and have broken a record that’s stood since the beginning of time.

Winning in a variety of ways whether it be wire to wire domination, walk off fashion or in game comebacks, it simply hasn’t mattered for the Boys in Blue in August.

Powered by superstars in Mookie Betts’ especially torrid August in another MVP caliber season and Freddie Freeman’s overall consistency all season long, it’s truly been a group effort more so than ever at Chavez Ravine.

Max Muncy doubled in the contest and drove in three runs on the night, notching an extra-base hit for the eighth straight game in what’s been a great bounce back season for him.

Jason Heyward mashed another home run after many thought the veteran was done for as a Cub, but the long ball in the series finale with Arizona has shown that the outfielder has plenty left in the tank.

Ryan Pepiot’s efforts on short notice with Tony Gonsolin done for the year has proven quite valuable for Dave Roberts’ options for October after another quality outing and five shutout innings to silence a playoff hopeful.

With another win and more dancing at the Ravine, the Dodgers are feeling quite good about themselves, but they know that the work isn’t done.

A battle for NL supremacy in a possible preview of the NLCS awaits the Dodgers as Atlanta comes to town for a four-game set in what should be a great fight to end the month and start September.
