Dodgers Notes: Dylan Cease Trade Proposal, LA Looking at Top Shortstops, Lux, Betts, Buehler Updates

Gavin Lux’s absence greatly hurt the Dodgers this season after the infielder went down with a torn ACL and sprained LCL during Spring Training. General manager Brandon Gomes said that Lux is on track to return to the diamond in 2024 but will not be participating in winter ball.

Gomes also suggested that star utilityman Mookie Betts would be playing more second base next season. Betts excelled at the position in 2023 and his versatility allowed the Dodgers to put together a more complete lineup.

The Dodgers also have rumors flying, including trades for Dylan Cease, Willy Adames and Bo Bichette, and a free agent deal for Jeimer Candelario.

  1. FOR THIS REASON ONLY, DAVE ROBERTS SHOULD NOT COME BACK. HOW IN THE HELL CAN A MANAGER LEAVE A PITCHER, WHO HAS GIVEN UP MORE HOME RUNS THAN ANY OTHER PITCHER, IN THE GAME. HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN REMOVED AFTER THE FIRST HOME RUN. HAS ANYONE ASKED ROBERTS WHY THIS HAPPENED. IF THEY HAVEN’T, THEY DON’T DESERVE REPORTING ON BASEBALL.
Arizona scored all its runs in a record-setting third inning against Dodgers starter Lance Lynn — becoming the first team in postseason history to hit four home runs in one inning.

    1. He had no choice. Doc would’ve had to empty out our bullpen completely! Nobody knew Lynn was gonna give up another 1,2 or 3 singers that inning. Probably knew he was gonna have a tough game at that 2nd HR, but didn’t matter…. Kershaw n Miller already taxed our pen, now 3 straight games of 2.0 innings on avg. of staters. We already used 8 pitchers with Lynn. If we could’ve won game 3, which by the time Lynn gave up 2 solo shots, we weren’t going to win anyways. We only scored 2 runs. 2-2 tie let’s say. We pull Lynn…. Ok…… We win in extra innings 3-2 ? Maybe?! Game 4 game we HAVE to use pep. Let’s say Pep goes 5 2/3 1 run ? ( At best he goes that) we have nobody left. Ok
We bring in all used receivers Then… We give up another 1 or 2 runs. maybe we score 5 runs finally in a game, we win 5-3. Game 5. We have to start Kersh and bring in other burnt relievers… LMAO. U think we win game 5 ?!!? No…. We don’t! AZ was still rolling anyways thru Philly. Doc had to leave Lynn in there. Only reason Kersh was let off the hook, was cuz outa respect!! He wasn’t leaving Mr Dodger in to get pounded 8 runs in an inning. Or 10 over 3 or 4 innings. Doc is getting crap over this, and there’s nothing he could’ve done. He took out Lynn after 1 or 2 HR s , y’all wud be bitchin that he pulled Lynn too early, and taxed the pen, when we got hammered in game 4 or 5. It was a, lose lose situation.

  2. I hear you loud and clear Pasquale, no one said S*** as if they had a mouth full. Tha’s one full proof key to giving games away..

  3. HE HAD A CHOICE, THE ENTIRE PITCHING STAFF WAS AVAILABLE, THEY NO WHERE ELSE TO GO. THEY ONLY RED FLAG ROBERTS NEEDED WAS THE FIRST HOME RUN. LYNN PITCHING WASN’T A FLUKE, IT WAS A NORMAL GAME FOR HIM, IT IS WHAT HE DOES, BATTING PRACTICE
