Dodgers Notes: Melvin Leaves Padres for Giants, Update on Peralta Surgery, World Series and More
Just a few weeks after sweeping the Dodgers in the NLDS, the Arizona Diamondbacks are headed to the World Series, where they will face old friend Corey Seager and the Texas Rangers. It’s the first time the Diamondbacks have won the NL Pennant since 2001 and the fifth time since 2015 that the team that knocked the Dodgers out of the playoffs is headed to the World Series.
In other MLB news, the Padres have completed their break up with manager Bob Melvin after a rough 82-80 season. Melvin leaves the Padres for the Giants and a new three year deal. He also leaves behind a lot of reported drama between himself and GM A.J. Preller.
In Dodgers news, we got an update on the surgery David Peralta had on Tuesday night which was revealed to be for a flexor tendon issue.
Peralta hit just .231 with no home runs and a .578 OPS after the All-Star break. He is not expected to be back with the Dodgers in 2024.
