February marked the beginning of the the third month of the MLB lockout. However, that doesn’t mean there wasn’t some noteworthy headlines that didn’t involve the CBA negotiations. Including a a pair of former Dodgers retiring.
Another former Dodger is continuing his professional baseball career in a new country.
As far as the lockout, MLB kicked off the public posturing with a significant request that could’ve deeply affected the CBA negotiations moving forward.
Not surprisingly, the players fired back with an official statement from the MLBPA and a barrage of frustrated Tweets.
Former Dodgers pitcher Rich Hill pointed the finger at one man, and one man only, for the unproductive bargaining sessions.
There was also plenty of news involving the one-and-only Clayton Edward Kershaw. Including the hurler being compared to recently retired NFL quarterback Tom Brady.
On the hot stove front, LA apparently has some serious competition when it comes to free agent superstar Freddie Freeman.
A Dodger insider predicted who will be the closer for LA in 2022, when top pitching prospect Ryan Pepiot will make his debut, and believe that re-signing Trea Turner needs to be a “top priority”.
