Dodgers vs Brewers: Latest Betting Odds, Predictions and Picks for August 22

After sweeping the Marins over the weekend, the Dodgers look to continue a successful homestand as the Brewers come into town for three games. While Los Angeles was sweeping Miami to extend its division lead to 18 games, Milwaukee was losing two of three to the lowly Chicago Cubs to drop five games behind the Cardinals in the NL Central and 1.5 games behind the Phillies for the third and final Wild Card spot.

The Dodgers send Julio Urias to the mound in the series opener. He will be opposed by Eric Lauer of the Brewers.

Urias is 13-6 with a 2.40 ERA this season and will be making is 24th start of the year. He has won his last 10 decisions dating back to mid-June, and he currently ranks third in the National League in ERA behind teammate Tony Gonsolin (2.12) and Sunday’s Dodger victim Sandy Alcantara (2.19).

Lauer pitched very well against the Dodgers in his most recent start last week, allowing just two runs in seven innings, but he was outdueled by Gonsolin, who threw seven shutout innings for the win. Overall, Lauer is 8-5 with a 3.58 ERA.
