Dodgers Have 10 of MLB’s Top 150 Prospects in Farm System, Per ESPN Rankings
The Los Angeles Dodgers had a dominant 2024 season followed by a surgical offseason of roster improvement, but what waits for them might just prove to be even better.
Homegrown talent is nothing new to the Dodgers, despite their free agent and trade prowess as of late.
Fourteen of the 28 Dodgers on the 2020 World Series roster came from their stellar farm system, including Cody Bellinger, Joc Pederson, and the MVP of that series, Corey Seager, among others.
As for the 2024 World Series roster, Gavin Lux, Will Smith, and Walker Buehler were among the six homegrown talents helping lead L.A. to its eighth title. It is definitely worth mentioning that Clayton Kershaw famously originated from the successful Dodger farm but did not find a spot on the October roster due to injury.
It is no secret by now that Los Angeles knows how to develop talent, but as we look at the best 150 prospects in baseball this season, the Dodgers’ farm has quite a few names on the list.
Per ESPN’s Top 100 MLB prospect ratings, and the subsequent list of the next 101-200 ranked prospects by Kiley McDaniel, the Dodgers have 10 standouts:
1. Roki Sasaki, RHP
16. Dalton Rushing, C
20. Josue De Paula, LF
37. Alex Freeland, SS
70. Zyhir Hope, CF
80. Emil Morales, SS
93. Jackson Ferris, LHP
94. River Ryan, RHP
106. Eduardo Quintero CF
149.Justin Wrobleski, LHP
Sasaki leads this list, and it’s easy to see why. In his four Nippon Professional Baseball seasons, the 23-year-old threw 505 strikeouts to only 88 walks over 394.2 innings with an ERA of 2.10.
No. 16 on the list, Dalton Rushing, was the 2024 Dodgers Minor League Player of the Year. He is a name that has garnered much buzz from Dodgers fans recently due to his bat and his position.
Will Smith is the clear Dodgers catcher of the future, but Rushing is transitioning to the outfield in order to get his offensive skills in MLB action sooner.
In 2024, Rushing had a batting average of .271 and an OPS of .896. He finished the year with 114 hits, 26 homeruns and 85 RBIs in 420 at-bats.
With all the talent already on the Dodgers roster, there is no reason to be rushing these prospects as they continue to develop. McDaniel even thinks one of the Dodgers’ top prospects could be the next Yordan Alvarez.

While the present is bright for L.A., the future may be even brighter.
